What is vegan cosmetics?

La Belleza del Alma

Veganism is a lifestyle that avoids the use or consumption of products of animal origin or derived from their exploitation. It is considered a philosophy of life, because it is not only applied to food, but also to any type of consumption in which there is animal exploitation, including clothing (leather, fur, wool, silk, feathers…), hygiene and cosmetic products, visits to zoos, circuses, aquariums and, in short, any consumption where animals are exploited for pleasure, fun, experimentation or consumption.

In cosmetics when we talk about the term vegan, we mean that the product is free of animal derived ingredients such as: Lanolin, beeswax, honey, keratin, mink oil, Carmine , Musk, bee products, gelatin, animal hyaluronic acid Lecithin, royal jelly, silk, collagen, animal fats, hair (make-up brushes and brushes), milk (donkey, goat, cow…)colourants and a long etcetera.

you can find the extensive list of animal ingredients at:

When we talk about a vegan product, we are referring to the absence of animal exploitation in every sense, regardless of whether it is a natural product or contains petrochemical derivatives.

Another concept that is often confused with vegan but is different is “cruelty free”, which means that the product has not been tested on animals.

At La Belleza del Alma we only offer a respectful and healthy beauty concept and all the services and products we offer are vegan and organic.
