The Power of Aromatherapy

La Belleza del Alma

“I caress the colour of your smile, I breathe the poetry of your soul…”

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils extracted from different parts of plants (leaves, stems, flowers, bark, resins, wood…) as a therapy at different levels: physical, emotional and psychic.

Essential oils can be applied in various ways: inhalation, diffusion, baths, massages, cosmetics and internally (always under the instructions of a specialist).

In terms of beauty, the use of aromatherapy is very powerful, not only for its properties on the skin, but also for its multiple effects at all levels.

Essential oils should always be applied diluted, never directly on the skin, with a few exceptions such as lavender or tea tree, which can be applied locally. Caution should be taken with photosensitive oils (lemon, orange, bergamot, grapefruit, mandarin), as they can cause skin blemishes if the skin is exposed to the sun after application.

Some of the essential oils that we can use for the beauty of our skin are:

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia): skin regenerator, powerful healing, allergies and delicate skin, skin infections, dermatitis, wounds, ulcers;

Calming, sedative, antidepressant; sleep disorders, nervousness, anxiety; hypotensive; antimicrobial, antiseptic
